LKP Plants, a leading Dutch Bromeliad grower, joined forces with Van der Hoeven and Logiqs to develop a pioneering semi-closed greenhouse. This innovative project was driven by a shared ambition: to drastically reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions while maintaining premium crop quality.
The result is a highly energy-efficient facility in Moerkapelle that combines advanced climate technology with an integrated logistics system. The semi-closed concept allows for greater control over temperature, humidity, and airflow, minimizing heat loss and external influences while optimizing growing conditions year-round. In addition, smart energy management systems ensure that both heat and CO2 are used with maximum efficiency.
Together with Logiqs, Van der Hoeven also integrated an advanced internal transport system, supporting a fully automated workflow that improves productivity and reduces labor intensity. The compact layout and sustainable design reflect LKP's vision for the future of ornamental horticulture: innovative, responsible and scalable.
