Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects has expanded its sales and business development activities in the Gulf region with the appointment of Fouad Ababou. In this role, he will support commercial growth and market development for both Van der Hoeven and Patron Agri Systems in the Middle East.
Fouad Ababou has extensive experience in horticulture and controlled environment agriculture. His background in greenhouse technology, automation and project execution enables him to guide customers from early concept through to realization. This aligns perfectly with Van der Hoeven’s commitment to delivering comprehensive greenhouse solutions.
His appointment reinforces the regional sales and business development team. Fouad will work closely with Wejdan Abdulaziz, Business Development, and Marnix de Jong, Sales Manager. Together, they focus on developing well integrated greenhouse solutions, including specialised systems related to water and electrical infrastructure, tailored to the needs of the Gulf region.
Bas Duijvestijn, CCO at Van der Hoeven, comments: “The MEA region is strategically important for Van der Hoeven. With projects such as Armela Farms in the UAE and Topian in Saudi Arabia and Alghanim in Egypt, we see growing demand for integrated and reliable solutions. Fouad’s understanding of the regional market and his technical background support our ambition to further strengthen our presence in this region.”
