Peter van Laarschot appointed as new CEO of Van der Hoeven

Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects, a global leader in the design, construction and operation of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) solutions, announces the appointment of Peter van Laarschot as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 April 2026.

“As part of Arvesta, Van der Hoeven is one of our strong brands within our greenhouse division. With Peter, we have found an experienced leader who can continue and further refine Van der Hoeven’s strategic direction as a pioneer in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA),” says Karin Van Roy, BU Director Greenhouse at Arvesta.

Peter has extensive experience in internationally operating and technology‑driven organisations. This background aligns closely with Van der Hoeven’s ambition to further strengthen its position in complex and sustainable projects worldwide.

“The Netherlands holds a strong position in horticulture and plays an important role in global food security. My focus will be on strengthening the strategic position of Van der Hoeven. I look forward to working together, building on existing knowledge and experience, and contributing in a meaningful way to reliable and sustainable food production worldwide,” says Peter van Laarschot.

He previously held various management and advisory positions at technical and industrial organisations, including WSP, Vinci Energies NL, NRG/Pallas and BAM.
