Nice to meet you

Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects. The future of horticulture technology.

More and more the world is realizing that we need to preserve our planet and that it requires a much more sustainable approach on agriculture. Also, the world deserves access to healthy food.

Therefore, we design, build and operate tailor made horticultural solutions for our customers, with a reduced footprint in natural resources, water, CO2 and pesticides. We continuously invest in R&D to strengthen our propositions towards our customers. This vision allows us to operate our business successfully for a better future.

The role: Head of Electrical Engineering

Our Engineering department plays a central role within the company by drafting and preparing our projects.

Engineering makes an important contribution to the primary process, making it important to work closely with the Projects, Design, Purchase and Realisation department.

The department consists of an enthusiastic team, divided over the disciplines Greenhouse, Climate, Water and Electrical Installations. Each discipline has a Head of Engineering, who reports to the Manager Engineering. For the Electrical discipline, we are currently looking for a Head of Electrical Engineering.

In this position, you will lead a group of electrical engineers. You and your team are responsible for the timely, correct and accurate delivery of all our electrical projects. Of course, this is done in consultation with the project team concerned.

This involves overall drawing work in which all areas of expertise are brought together into detail and production drawings, including bills of materials for the purchase of materials.

Naturally, there is a lot of focus on developing your team. Due to a combination of experienced and just-starting Engineers, the needs of your employees will be different. You are the driving factor behind the team and ensure a suitable division of labour based on the projects and the qualities of your colleagues. You enjoy tackling electrical engineering challenges and have a mechanical or electrical engineering background.

You can be deployed as lead engineer on our large-scale international turn-key horticultural projects and know how to keep an eye on the big picture in each project in a decisive manner.

Your profile

  • WO or hbo technical education
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English
  • Independent and responsible
  • Solution-oriented
  • Experience as an Engineer in an (international) project environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Solidworks

What to expect?

At Van der Hoeven & Enthoven-Patron we find it important to be there for each other as a team. We help and support each other in our work, teach each other things about our work and from our experiences. In this way, we strive for success together, time and again.

We invest in the future of our employees. With VDH Academies, an internal knowledge-sharing platform, colleagues learn from each other about their work, and external tailor-made training courses are supported if possible. In addition to knowledge, we like to invest in the well-being of our employees. We do this physically, through the weekly boot camp and the free fruit we offer, but also through fun. We have an active staff association with a well-filled activities agenda, which provides, for example, a drink or barbecue at the office or something fun for the children at Christmas. In addition, there is plenty of room in the office for sociability and a game of pool, and of course departmental outings are organised.

We find it important to inform employees about the state of affairs of the company and what we are working towards. We do this every month through our internal newsletter, the Doorbraak, supplemented by the quarterly meetings. Where the entire company comes together over a drink and a snack, while management tells us what is going on at that moment.
